He said he is working with WIU to get student home addresses for a postcard mailing.

“Since the students live in Macomb for most of the year, they should list Macomb as their home address,” Bannon said.
The census asks where you were or will be living on April 1, 2020.

The Eastern Illinois University Board of Trustees will have an emergency meeting on Thursday to discuss the possibility of refunding or crediting students with Housing and Dining contracts who do not return to Eastern for the remainder of the semester.

According to the agenda, due to circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Board authorizes Eastern President David Glassman to make decisions relative to “refunding or crediting students with Housing and Dining contracts who choose not to return to Eastern residences for the Spring 2020 semester.”

There was no mention of refunding or crediting tuition or student fees.

The Western Illinois University Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting via tele-conferencing at 11 a.m. Monday, March 30, 2020.

The trustees will consider a resolution that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Board temporarily suspends BOT policies, regulations, rules, or any other authority currently granted to the Board governing campus operations, and delegates those inherent powers to the Interim President until the sooner of the state of emergency is lifted or until the next Board of Trustees meeting.

The meeting will be live-streamed on WIU's YouTube Channel at https://www.youtube.com/user/WesternIllinoisU.

The meeting is closed to the public due to the Stay at Home Order that remains in effect. On March 16, 2020, Gov. Pritzker issued an executive order providing relief from some of the provisions of the Open Meetings Act 5 ILS 120 requiring or relating to in-person attendance by members of a public body are suspended.

Public comments can be emailed to University General Counsel at EL-Duvall@wiu.edu. Comments will be read aloud by Duvall during the meeting. Individuals who wish to submit public comments should do so by 5 p.m. Sunday, March 29.

The complete agenda and resolution can be found at wiu.edu/bot.
