I'm a little surprised that the board can meet before they have been approved by the Illinois Senate.
I too think it is odd, but SIU did just that. Don't know if SIU voted on any resolutions. Is WIU BOT voting on the resolutions?

How's the atmosphere at the BOT meeting compared to the last few? Anything stand out to you?

From what I have heard, it was a tough day for everyone involved. Rumor has it that the BOT went into a closed session about 6 hours into the discussion because of heated words between a number of individuals involved. Changing the direction/refocusing WIU to allow it to thrive as the institution we all hope it can once again be is going to take effort, discussion, honesty and patience. There will be angry words, tears, and frustrations along the way but it has got to be done. We need a firm and thoughtful direction to say the least! ;) jc

Can anyone confirm this? If so, this would be a good sign, in my opinion. It’s going to take some real strong disagreements to get Jack and a couple of VPs to either shape up or ship out.

At the very least, if it went 6 hours, that's a huge improvement over done by noon.
