Building on a strong team of diverse experts in their fields, Governor JB Pritzker announced his appointments to the Western Illinois University Board of Trustees.
The new board will focus its efforts on revitalizing WIU’s student recruitment and outreach efforts, focusing investments on core programs, burnishing the university’s reputation and brand throughout the state, and strengthening relationships with its surrounding communities.
As was previously said, Todd Lester is being very closely looked at right now and will likely not be on the board for very much longer.
I know two of the people on the list, and at first glance, everything looks pretty decent. I'm cautiously optimistic at this point.

I'm a little surprised that the board can meet before they have been approved by the Illinois Senate.
I guess as long as they don't vote on anything, we are on safe grounds but I was only an aspiring pre-law student at WIU for my freshman year so take that with a grain of salt..

I would be lying if I said I wasn’t concerned that someone from the QC area is the chair of the board.
I recall one of my posts from way way way back when I said we might be playing the QC someday in sports. I still think that is a possibility 20 years from now if the state gets healthy and they build that train track from Chicago to Moline.
