I can’t tell if it is a pure talent problem or coaching issue.

I’d say some dramatic changes need to be made. I never dreamed Nielsen leaving would lead to this. Going to be in the basement of the MVFC for a long time (think Indiana state) if this remains the status quo.

Sadly, my childhood memories of WIU being one of the best teams in the country year after year are long gone.
I'm hoping its a talent issue, It seems like they do have a good coaching staff, but who knows. I know injuries aren't helping. I don't want them to go the transfer route, because I think you build a program with 4 and 5 year players in the program, but their obviously is a lack of talent on the team. Its sad because it kinda seemed things were heading in the right direction with Coach Fisher and now who knows.

The simple fact is you win Valley games up front our OLine has seemed to get worse every year under the current regime. You give the defense no chance when it seems like 70 percent of the time we go 3 and out on offense. As far as the officiating outside of that pass interferences call and the off setting penalties call that took forever to get figured out the refs did a pretty solid job.
