It's been a tough year to be a basketball fan. We do the best we can from a distance I guess. So are we honoring any player(s) on their "maybe/maybe not" last appearance in Western Hall? If so, I assume his/her parents would also get in for the final game. Is there a pub in town which faithfully broadcasts the games and gets a few loyal locals and students to show up for some good brew and food? I am booked on Friday night but I would make the trip to Macomb for the Saturday games.

A sweep would be very nice and would probably lock us in to making the tournament. But we have been in Denver's sneakers in recent years having to play our butts off just to make the tournament so I expect them to be tough. Them coming off their first conference win will bring some added confidence as well. None of our wins have come easily. I expect another nail biter this weekend.

P.S. I am also thinking about making the football trip to Brookings first weekend in March which happens to coincide with the Summit League hoops tournament. You know there will be some really good watch parties in and around Sioux Falls that weekend.
Embrace the pace of the race.

The Leathernecks are honoring Jake Weyhrich in a Senior Day celebration ahead of Saturday's tip-off.

The Manito, Ill., native transferred to Western Illinois in 2018 from Monmouth College and has appeared in 13 contests for the Purple and Gold. Injuries have prevented Weyhrich from competing this season.

Weyhrich was twice named to the Summit League's Commissioner's List of Academic Excellence and will be receiving a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture Business with a minor in Agronomy.
