Western beat #20 Oral Roberts 2-1 Saturday night.

Western defeated a ranked opponent for the first time since 2008 versus #17 Bradley.

All 3 goals were scored in the last 3 minutes of the game.

Attendance at Oral Roberts = 773.

With its 2-1 victory over Oral Roberts, Western clinched a share of the regular-season title with the Golden Eagles and have earned the #1 seed for the conference tournament. This also means that Western will host the 2020 Summit League Conference Tournament.

This year's conference tournament will start on Thursday (Nov 14) in Denver.

What a turnaround. Not sure what got into them mid-October other than just playing in-conference, but they've figured something out.

11 straight losses from the 8/30 to 10/5
Then, only 1 loss (and 1 tie) in the following 7 matches.

Oral RobertsOmaha is the only Summit team the Leathernecks lost to this year, so hopefully they can get some revenge in the first round of the tournament.

That's what I meant to type, but for some reason, is not what my fingers did.

Saturday's victory makes Western (5-12-1; 4-1) the No. 1 seed for the first time since 2011. And the regular-season title is the Leathernecks' first since the four teams in the 2019 field shared a four-way title in 2014.

The 2019 Summit League Men's Soccer Championship will be played Thursday, Nov. 14, and Saturday, Nov. 16, at the Denver Soccer Stadium in Denver, Colo. All games will be streamed free of charge on thesummitleague.org.

Thursday's first match pits Western against Omaha at 12 Noon (Central) while the second semifinal pits Oral Roberts and host Denver at 3:00 PM.

The winners of Thursday's matches will play in Saturday's championship match at 1:00 PM (Central) with the winner earning an automatic bid to the NCAA College Cup.
