We are now at five games in the winning streak. When was the last time that happened? For once we're not sweating out being included in the Summit end-of-season tournament.

Of any kind, we had a 5-game win streak in 2015 when we opened the season winning @ #17 Wisconsin, vs Hannibal-LaGrange, vs UIC, @ EIU, and vs Trinity Christian.

Against D1 teams, it was 2012/2013 when we actually had a 9-game D1 win streak: @ South Dakota, @ Kansas City, @ EIU, vs SIU-E, vs UIC, vs Oakland, vs Fort Wayne, vs Savannah State, vs IUPUI. The next game was against Greenville, which we did win, but is not D1, then we won @ Omaha before finally dropping one against SDSU.

For this season though...

Sunday's South Dakota vs Oral Roberts Men's game has been cancelled. A USD staff member has tested positive, and out of an abundance of caution, the teams decided not to play.

Speaking of a winning streak and improving over last year, what happened to thebatofwesternhall? Wonder if they are choking on their predictions right about now?

If we sweep Oral Bob on the road this weekend, we will do something (7 consecutive conference Ws) that has not been done in a long time. How long, I dont know yet. Best run in the 2012-13 season stopped at 6 consecutive conference Ws.

Update: According to the record book, longest conference winning streak is 8 back in 1994-95 season. Sweep in Tulsa, 2 straight wins in Sioux Falls, rewrite the record book. The best acts in town always make their money on the road. No pressure, just have some fun.
Embrace the pace of the race.

Last win streaks of over 5 games:
2012-2013 - won 11 games in a row, 6 of them were conference games, 1 was non-DI (Greenville)
1998-1999 - won 7 games in a row, 6 of them were conference games
1997-1998 - won 9 games in a row, 6 of them were conference games, 1 was non-DI (Illinois College)
1994-1995 - won 8 games in a row, all 8 were conference games. The last win in the streak was the first round of the conference tournament and was followed up by a 3-OT loss to Valpo in the second round.

We also had conference win streaks of 7 games in '84-'85 and in '82-'83 (part of a 10-game overall win streak).

So, if we win our next conference game, we'll have tied a few streaks that have happened 3 times since the mid-'90s.
If we win both, the 7-win streak will be the best conference win streak since the mid-'90s.
If we win both, then our first round game in the conference tournament, that ties the 8-game streak from '94-'95.
If we win both, then our first two games in the conference tournament, then that would set the school record at 9-game conference win streak.
