Northwestern game moved to Friday night by tv.

I’ll be at both the Illinois and Northwestern Friday night games to start the season. I’m REALLY looking forward to being at Northwestern’s Lakefront Stadium with a view of the skyline at night.

Looking at the schedule from a "Massey perspective": https://masseyratings.com/cf2025/8754

Essentially no chance for both the Illinois and Northwestern games
87% chance of a win over Valpo
19% chance of a win at Eastern Washington

In the OVC, we have essentially a "coin flip" chance against Charleston Southern (56%), Lindenwood (53%) and Eastern Illinois (49%).
If we play well, we have a shot against Tennessee State (34%), Gardner Webb (33%), SEMO (31%), and Tennessee Tech (27%).
UT Martin will be a pretty tough game, with only a 15% chance of a win.

Ugh, those odds are not adding up to a winning season. The scheduling of the non-con makes playoff eligibility all but out of reach. Best case scenario might be to get to .500.

Playing 2 power 4 teams never bodes well for FCS.  I just hope the football program sees the benefits from this type of scheduling through new facilities, NIL, etc.  I will say that Massey predictions are less valuable than ever as it has no idea who is who when it comes to roster talent.  Most of the OVC/BS rosters were bludgeoned by the portal. Who knew that Lamb, Aragon, Henry and Smith would have had the type of seasons they had a year ago.  Massey had no idea what roster those guys were on.

WIU will need the same type of diamond in the rough type guys to come out of the wood works this fall.

Thanks for posting.   I like Coach Davis,  from 0-4 wins was a good jump.   The defense was horrid,  but we seem to be attempting to address.   The offense was good and a fun watch.   With the portal and all the turn over,  it's kinda hard to say what kind of team we will have.   Obviously,  we get smoked the first 2 games of the year.  My hope is we improve and have 0 injuries from those games.   Not sure if an improvement over 4-8 will happen with all the turn over,  but I feel it might.   I think we are heading in the right direction now.

Anyone have any idea on when a depth chart will be released for the year? assuming Irvin and Zolnosky are battling to be the starting qb?

So we have:
1. TN Tech
2. UT Martin
3. SEMO
4. Lindenwood
5. WIU
6t. EIU
6t. Gardner-Webb
8. TN State
9. Charleston Southern

Compared to last year's final standings:
TN Tech: +1 spot
UT Martin: +1 spot
SEMO: -2 spots
Lindenwood: +1 spot
WIU: +1 spot
EIU: +2 spots
Gardner-Webb: +1 spot
TN State: -4 spots
Charleston Southern: no change
