West Georgia (currently DII) is looking to reclassify as DI and join the ASUN and UAC. Georgia Board of Regents will consider the request this Friday.

Merrimack and Sacred Heart moving from NEC to MAAC.
The MAAC does not have football, but the NEC is known for not being all that cool about affiliate football members except in the case of Duquese. Including them, the NEC will have 6 football playing members after Merrimack and Sacred Heart leave. They may also run into issues with too few basketball playing members.
It's possible that this reorganization may have some impact on the Big South side of the OVC/Big South agreement that might be relevant to us.

Sounds like the folks at AGS are thinking it's likely that they'll end up playing football in the Big South, which would mean we may end up playing them in a couple of years near the end of the OVC/Big South agreement. My hope is that the OVC is able to pull in a few other teams by then so they don't have to continue the OVC/Big South agreement. Maybe Austin Peay...Indiana State...some teams like that.

Delaware is set to move up to FBS and join Conference USA in 2025. CUSA will have 11 teams after the addition of the Blue Hens.

Robert Morris is heading back to the NEC as of the 2024 season:

RMU was in the NEC from 1981 to 2020.
By the time we join the OVC next year, it'll be the usual OVC teams (UT Martin, SEMO, EIU, TN State, TN Tech, Lindenwood), plus Gardner-Webb and Charleston Southern from the Big South, and us, for 9 total teams. I'd imagine they'll probably switch to an 8-game conference schedule at that point...everyone plays everyone else every year, which is nice.

Looks like some weird stuff is going on at Eastern Washington university. Wonder if they’re actually going to eliminate football. Can’t imagine going D2
