Was the attendance really 5,720? I saw a couple clips and it looked empty in the stadium. Valpo's football website and espn both report 572, not 5,720. Was anyone there to confirm?
I was there. The visitor's side was nearly empty except for maybe 100 Valpo fans and our marching band. The home side, however, had quite a few people, at least in the first half. Lots of people left after halftime or in the 3rd quarter because we were up by so much. There might not have quite been 5,720, but there were FAR more than 572.
Home side was pretty full normally I sit by the band but I sat on the home side for the 1st half because of the heat and moved over by the band in the second half

That's somewhat of a relief then!

And since it was a home game for us, I'd imagine that's the number that's being reported to the NCAA. I noticed that ESPN's stats/gamecast display (on my phone) was glitchy during the game too. At one point midway through the 4th quarter I looked at the stats in ESPN's app and it said the game was over, when it quite obviously wasn't (and Valpo ended up putting up like 14 more points after that). So, I wouldn't be surprised if they were glitchy on the attendance stat too.

It it was really 110 degrees in the booths, not surprising a few electronic and non-electronic glitches were in play. The wife and I headed for exit with a couple minutes left in half.

Coach Joe Davis commented about the size of the crowd in this week's "Prairie State Pigskin":
“That was one of the bigger home crowds we’ve had in my short time here.”

I didn't listen or follow much of the game as I was busy and just now seeing the box score, so the True Freshman QB didn't play? Are they trying to limit him playing time so he can keep his redshirt?
The true freshman QB was in concussion protocol last week after the Northwestern game. He should be back tomorrow and #2 on the depth chart.

Ok, thank you, that definitely explains things
