The entire state of IL is now in phase 4 of Covid mitigation protocol. Essentially business as usual with less than full capacity limits in place. I really don't see why we cant let in a few fans, properly socially distanced of course.

Would a home crowd and pep band have made a difference in this one? We will never know but we did make a nice run to get within 2 at 50-48 before things went the other direction.

UMKC won Friday's game 78-64.
Evan Zars led the Western scoring with 18 points. She also had 12 rebounds. Danni Nichols had 14 points.
Western was out-rebounded 45-30.

I think it is the players on court. The Leathernecks could have made tonight's game less exciting with a few more free throws in the net. The Leathernecks needed a home win.

Western wins Saturday's game 82-76.
Grace Gilmore led the Western scoring with 21 points. Evan Zars had 17 points and 11 rebounds. Elizabeth Lutz and Danni Nichols each had 15 points. Carla Flores had 10 points.
Next games will be the Friday / Saturday (Jan 22 & 23) series at Western Hall vs South Dakota. Game times will be at 4:30 PM on both days.
Grace Gilmore leads Western bounce back.
