South Dakota won Friday night's game 65-60.
Will Carius led the Western scoring with 21 points. Tamell Pearson had 19.
Cameron Burrell had 10 rebounds. Rod Johnson had 9.
Game 2 will be Saturday at 7:00 PM.
WIU falters down the stretch vs USD.

The Peoria Journal-Star has Saturday's game as a "Toss Up".
Saturday's game will be on Leatherneck All-Access and also on WIUS Radio (88.3 FM).

Michael Jones is very good as a play-by-play announcer. Just needs something to get excited about as we all do. But what happened to Cam Thomas?

South Dakota won Saturday's game 84-74.
South Dakota had a 37-point lead (61-24) in the second half.
Colton Sandage was the lead scorer off the bench with 17 points. Will Carius had 13. Tamell Pearson had 12 points and 12 rebounds.
33 Bench Points for Western.
Next games will be Friday & Saturday (Jan 29 & 30) at North Dakota. Game time will be 7:30 PM on both nights.
Hole too big, rally too late as Leathernecks lose.

Might have been a scheduling conflict. Cam Thomas also does games for Lincoln University in Jefferson City, MO.
