Brian VanGorder retiring from coaching football

Saw online that Brian VanGorder is retiring. Most recently he was the DC at Bowling Green, but the relevance to us is that he was on Coach Patterson’s staff for us in 2000 as DC, back when we had a phenomenal defense.
Another interesting WIU connection with him is that in 2013 he took over as DC at Notre Dame, replacing Bob Diaco, who was moving to be HC at UConn. Diaco himself was on that same WIU coaching staff, having coached RBs and Special Teams for us in ‘99 and ‘00.
