I doubt that would have been an issue. I'd imagine most kids who are good enough athletes to play a "skill position" at a DI school are also likely to have played a few different sports in HS. My guess is that they reached out to him at some point in the recruiting process, but he wasn't interested in Western, so the recruiting process didn't go much further.

The FCS Championship game is on ABC today, although they're currently under a weather delay.
It's tied up at 7 with 8:55 left in the first half.

SDSU QB Gronowski was out with a knee injury during the second series and is out for the game.

UPDATE - game has resumed, Sam Houston State up 14-7 at halftime

Sam Houston State wins the game, 23-21.

SDSU pulled ahead 21-17 on a "beast mode" 85-yard TD run by Isaiah Davis, but Sam Houston retook the lead with a TD pass with 16 seconds left in the game.
Last couple of plays for SDSU were a bit odd, but didn't get them close enough for a FG attempt as time ran out on the Jackrabbits.

#2 Sam Houston State beat #1 South Dakota State 23-21. Attendance at Frisco, Texas = 7,840.
