Thursday Game Results

Youngstown State beat Incarnate Word, 44-41 with a FG in OT. Penguins RB Jaleel McLaughlin ran for 242 yards and 2 TDs.

Southern Illinois took down rival Southeast Missouri State, 47-21. SIU QB Nic Baker threw for 460 yards and 4 TDs.

Our week 3 opponent Eastern Washington took down FBS UNLV 35-33 for the second FCS over FBS win of the night (the other was UC Davis beating Tulsa, 19-17). QB Eric Barriere threw for 374 yards and 3 TDs in the win. The game actually ended up pretty much as expected as most oddsmakers had EWU favored by about 3 points. EWU is pretty good for a FCS team, but UNLV is REALLY BAD for a FBS team.

Drake blew out DII West Virginia Wesleyan, 45-3

#4 Ohio State beat Minnesota, 45-31

DII Lindenwood fell to Angelo State, 40-20.

Up tonight (Friday) are both the South Dakota teams playing potentially winnable FBS games (I think SDSU is actually favored over Colorado State by some), plus Michigan State takes on Northwestern.

The Knox College non-conference football game scheduled for September 4 against Westminster College at Fulton, Missouri, has been canceled due to COVID-19 protocols. The game will not be re-scheduled.

Don't look now, but both South Dakota teams are leading in their FBS games.

USD up 14-10 over Kansas with ~5 minutes left in the game
SDSU leading Colorado State, 21-10 with ~30 seconds to halftime

USD doesn't quite do it. A dumb targeting penalty against the Yotes in the Kansas red zone gives the Jayhawks great field position, which they use to drive it in for a TD.

Kansas fans are rushing the field because they beat a FCS team...that isn't expected to finish in the top half of their conference or make the playoffs...by 3 points.
Kansas beats South Dakota, 17-14.

Bob and the boys are going to have trouble sleeping tonight.

Kansas game winning drive, believe it was LB Cochrane who dropped what should have been a pretty easy pick. Gave up a 4th and 10. Shitty targeting call on a 3rd down stop. Targeting by definition, but late qb slide that looked more like a slip trying to make a move and deciding to go down.

Ealier in the 4th, down 7 to 10, Bob calls a time out right before their FG snap, kick is good, decides to go for it 4th and a long 1, stuffed!!!! I know the butterfly affect of no timeout changes everything that happens after, but lost by 3......

Gotta love Stig. He has put together one hell of a machine in Brookings.

This game is getting ridiculous. SDSU is now up 35-10 nearing the end of the 3rd quarter.

EDIT - SDSU has now put in their second string skill players, up 42-23 with 6 minutes left in the game.

SDSU intercepts the ball on the final play of the game (not that it really matters that much)
Jackrabbits beat Colorado State 42-23

Also happening today, Michigan State beat Northwestern, 38-21
