Stecker is the last one I could think of with Tampa Bay.

I know Mike Wagner was in a few with the Steelers back in the steel curtain days, and Rodney Harrison had some with New England. Don Beebe famously chased down a Cowboys player who thought he had an easy TD and knocked it out of his hands when he was playing for that Bills team that made 4 straight SB appearances. More recently we have Rich Seubert on the Giants o-line when they prevented the Patriots from going undefeated, and Saunders with KC just a couple years back.

That’s all I can think of off the top of my head. I’ll have to go back and dig into the records to get the rest.

Let’s not forget Red Miller.  He was a player and coach at WIU.  He was the Head Coach for the Broncos when they won the Super Bowl in 1978.  That was the Broncos first Super Bowl title.

I was awarded the prestigious Red Miller award in 1979.  This is on display in Western Hall.  Some great names on this trophy that some of you may recognize.

That is the late HC Pete Rodriguez, right?  Interesting of note, his daughter Regina Marie Rodriguez, who was probably a Macomb HS student when he was here, was recently nominated and confirmed for federal judgeship position.  BTW, Pete is also the coach who exiled me from Western Hall one day when they (maybe even you) were practicing for a big upcoming game.  He thought I was a spy for the opposition.

Very interesting.  Thanks for sharing.  I remember his daughters but they were young.  Pete was a great assistant coach but not a head coach.
