USD has announced a new women's basketball Assistant Coach with a familiar name for many around here...Ty Margenthaler.
If you don't know, his father Jack is 2nd all time in coaching wins for WIU (221 wins from '77-'92) and is a member of the WIU Athletics Hall of Fame. Ty and his brother Matt (longtime head men's basketball coach at D2 MN State Mankato) were both Macomb High graduates and Matt played for WIU in '89/'90.

Make that two USD women's basketball coaches with ties to WIU, as Taylor Ignoto has been hired as an assistant coach.
A familiar face in the Summit League, Ignoto was on staff as an assistant coach for two seasons at Western Illinois and one at Omaha. She was a part of the Leathernecks' 2016-17 championship squad, which clinched the Summit League regular season and tournament titles. WIU advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 22 seasons that March. She worked with 2017 Summit League Player of the Year Emily Clemens, as well as all-Summit picks Morgan Blumer and Taylor Higginbotham.
Her last gig was as an Assistant Coach at Utah State.
