New $17 for 17 campaign: https://www.givecampus.com/schools/West ... -campaign/
They're trying to get 400 donors to donate $17 to upgrade the "Fuel Zone" area for athletes.

Here is a pic of the Fuel Station from our Football Family Group upgrades from 2019. This really is a great tool for our athletes!

I just looked and the Campaign ended and they were far short of their goal. they wanted 400 contributions and only received 264. They did receive over $10,000 though from the 264 donations.

Hey, multiply 17 x 400.  $6800.  Then divide the total raised by 17.  That’s $10641. If all the donors just gave 17, then it would have taken  626 donors to raise $10641.  I call that a helluva money making accomplishment.  I wonder how many of our members made a 17 dollar donation, or more. ;)

I know I saw at least a couple of names that I recognize from around here on the donations list.

That is a good point, I didn't look at it that way, I guess I was just disappointed in the number of contributions, but I did figure that the avg given was way more than $17

Spin it to win it however you want.

BUT, if only 3% of donors were students (by my math, that is about 8), there is a problem and IMHO, it is closely related to poor student attendance at sporting events.  Current athletes should have taken turns at an information table in the Union during this campaign trying to stir up a willingness to chip in.  I assume they did not.  Hey, as athlete, you might have to occasionally show some interest in and attend other student activities (recitals, plays, prayer meetings, whatever).  What better way than to reach out and talk to students and find out what things they are into.

Related question:  Do kids still wear Letter Jackets around campus?  What better way to announce your attendance at a play or recital than show up in your letter jacket.

Dont waste time telling me it is tough for students to come up with $17.  Been there done that.
