Impressive win to start the season with.  I will try and get there for Wednesday game before the snow hits town.

BTW, Wilt the Stilt put up  78 points in a losing effort against the Lakers on December 8, 1961.
The Bison had no one but Nelson doing anything tonite.

Always good to win home games especially against the Dakotas of recent years.

Nelson is a nice player, I wonder if he would look to transfer elsewhere, being 6'11" I would think some bigger schools would be interested

I wonder if  Lamar will just redshirt this season

Agree impressive win and one they needed, still concerned about the depth on the team, now need to win on Wednesday

I have been a bit hard on my analysis of Mr. Farr's game but he stepped up tonight and provided some great physical defense and actually hit a 3 from outside the top of the key and went 3/4 from the free-throw line.  Besides that, he snagged 2 defensive rebounds.  I still do not like the fact that he shoots threes at bad times, but tonight he really grew on me.  Anyone see  Collinsworth tonight on the bench? ;)

Western won the game 79-60.

#20 Cody Collinsworth was dressed for tonight's game.

Grant Nelson scored 35 of NDSU's points.

Trenton Massner led the Western scoring with 24 points.  He also had 11 rebounds and 7 assists.  He played all 40 minutes.

Alec Rosner had 19 points.  He had to leave the game briefly due to a knee injury.  But he played 36 minutes.

Jesiah West had 14 points and 7 rebounds.

Seven Western players saw action tonight.  KJ Lee and Elijah Farr came off the bench.

The big difference in this game was the 3-point shot.  Western was 10 for 22.  Alec Rosner had 5.  Trenton Massner had 4.  NDSU was 1 for 17 on their three-point attempts.

Attendance at Western Hall = 533.

Next game will be at Western Hall on Wednesday (Dec 21) vs North Dakota.  Game time is 12 Noon.

Wednesday's game with North Dakota has been postponed due to the pending winter storm.

The game will now be played on Jan 23.

Vanover from ORU is also testing the transfer waters.  I think both of those kids, especially Vanover, need some meat on their bones to excel beyond where they are now.
