I think we might have pulled in a football recruit who might have been on the edge with this W.  What a game.

BJ Stone is fun to listen to in games like this.  He tells it like it is.  
 

The AD needs to lock Jeter to a 10yr $500k per contract now while they still can.  Doing so will invest 10-100 fold in keeping the athletics program interesting and likely keep wiu on student increasing enrollment with success.

Football needs to prove themselves competitive...and invest likewise. But overall football and basketball should hopefully be evaluated.

He is a leader of men, On and off the court. I always appreciate his interviews. He is a great coach. He can recruit. Let’s keep basketball program rolling at this trajectory.

I gotta give the fans a lot of credit I was waiting for a mass exodus when we got down 20. There were several State fans in front of me behind our bench and they were speechless. It was great to hear Jeter thank the fans over the intercom after the game.

Western wins 81-73 in overtime !!

Trenton Massner was the leading scorer for Western with 30 points.  He had 9 rebounds and 8 assists.

Alec Rosner had 16 points -- all in the second half.

Quinlan Bennett had 10 points.  Jesiah West had 9 points and 13 rebounds.

Attendance at Western Hall = 1,534

Next game will be at Denver on Thursday (Feb 2).  Game time is 8:00 PM.


 

Again, seems like the attendance number is off by quite a bit. That place was pretty full. Loved it.
