We can't forget about the NAIA Basketball Tournament that is going on now in Kansas City.

Western played twice in the NAIA Championship game -- finishing in 2nd place both times:
1954 Championship game:  Saint Benedict (Kansas) 62.  Western 56.
1958 Championship game:  Tennessee State 85.  Western 73.

Illinois teams in this year's tournament:  Saint Xavier, Olivet Nazarene.

Nearby Iowa Wesleyan is also in the NAIA Tournament.  Iowa Wesleyan played Western in a December game at Western Hall.  Western won 84-73.
