Is this branding effort just for athletics or are we going "hog wild" with it for the entire university. It does have a little ring to it that I kind of like.

I would love to know what you are talking about Seal. Can you give more info, or post a link?

Thanks.

Redneck,

A lot of the tweets from coaches and publications from AD now seem to be tagged #W1U like at bottom of this one:

hmmmm, well if it has been repeated multiple times obviously it is with intention.

I Initially thought the B1G logo was weak. I am Indiffernet now.

Would W1U mean: Western #1 University,,,,?

I'm all for dropping Illinois LOL . (just kidding)

I think its part of the new athletics motto which is " there is only one " as in no other team has leathernecks as it mascot.

I guess it goes hand in hand with the #TheresOnlyOne tag. I do like it. Looks impressive big and bold. I think I will ask Jack on Saturday if we will start seeing it across the board. Anyone else have any questions you want me throw at him?

Wonder how much more those two extra letters would have cost us to put on the new flags. LOL

I think the "there's only 1" was a tagline originally associated with changing the women's sports from WesterWinds to Leathernecks.

One of the Athletics grad students told me that the reference behind the "There's Only One ..." campaign is the fact that Western is the only educational institution in the country that has permission to use the name "Leathernecks".

Therefore, there is only 1 Leatherneck football, etc.
