The softball team kicked the season off yesterday by splitting the 2 games they played. They have 2 more games today.

They beat Detroit and lost to UWGB.

On Sunday, Western beat Butler 5-4 and lost to DePaul 3-2.

Western Softball will be playing 5 games in Honolulu this upcoming weekend.
 

Softball lost all 5 games at the Hawai'i Spring Fling Softball Tournament.

Western Softball is now 2-7 on the season.

The team will be playing 5 games next weekend (Feb 21-23) at the Velvet Milkman Classic at Murray, Kentucky.

2023: 9-36 (3-15 in conference) and finished in last place
2022: 8-37 (4-17 in conference) and finished in last place
2021: 16-29 (6-14 in conference) and finished in last place
Total: 49-153 (17-68 in conference)

In think if we finish last again, it's time to move on. We're far enough removed from the impacts of COVID, and two years in a new conference without any signs of improvement.

Western Softball won 1 game (Valparaiso) and lost 3 games (UW-Green Bay twice and Valparaiso) at this weekend's Lindenwood Invite.

Western Softball is now 4-12 on the season.

The OVC season gets started this weekend with a 3-game series at Southern Indiana.
 

1-0 in conference end the season 

the Softball team ended up winning the series against Southern Indiana 2-1, which was their first series win in OVC play. I don't think Southern Indiana is very good, I think their overall record going into the series was about the same as WIUI's but hopefully this gives the team some confidence.
