Starting next week, you can vote for Western in the Stanley Security Safer Schools grant competition.
Western is in Category 2 (8,000-19,999 students). Winner gets $150k and second place gets $50k in security products and services from Stanley Security.

I set up a reminder on my calendar to send me a text every morning at 9 AM until 2/13 to Vote, tweet, and text.
Looks like verification is a bit better than the 6th fan contest was (no running automated scripts to vote thousands of times), and requires only a couple of minutes every day to vote.

Gonna need a lot of support to build a big lead. You know how it goes as everyone lets up towards the end it seems and if a few schools do not know the first few days it can help WIU win!
According to site you can vote once per day per email, this means if you have a personal and work email you can vote twice and you can vote by texting and twitter. There is at least 3 votes per person each day and could be more if you have multiple emails.

I will continue to vote 3 times per day but not crazy about putting time into something with no scoreboard. I could easily vote 100 more times a day since I have a web site with that many email accounts attached to it. Sorry folks, I am not doing that unless I know for sure we need the 110% effort.

That's all I'm doing....my 3 votes per day. I'm not dealing with automated scripts, multiple email accounts, etc. Not after the whole 6th fan thing.

I agree that is what I am doing as well, just making sure I am doing it each day. I see we are still in 1st, but there is a new school in 2nd place making some moves. Still have about 2 weeks left on this.

We officially dropped to 2nd over the weekend. I am now voting 5 times per day as it is super easy to use these multiple emails.
