Re: At Missouri
Not sure what is going on the women's team, but they basically played 5 players. Hopefully the bench improves as the season goes on and they become a deeper team.
I think what's going on is they took a P5 school to OT, on the road, in their opener! Coach Gravina has spoken in the pre-season ...

Re: 2019 Week 7 - Western Illinois vs Illinois State
In fairness, I made a typo above. Tickets arrived sometime mid-first quarter and I imagine everyone waiting to get in got in by the MIDDLE of the first quarter.

Re: 2019 Week 7 - Western Illinois vs Illinois State
I got to the ticket booth and there was a short line of people waiting for general admission tickets (they were out of them). Not sure how long they had to wait but I qualified for the Child/Senior discount ticket and they had those so I was able to get right in quickly. Gotta say the pork ...

Re: Enrollment Updates
Amen, ST! I hope most of the LN Crew read W101's post and cringed.
ST - You do a fantastic job moderating this board and I applaud you for speaking against comments that flirt with outright racism, as that post most certainly did.
And if you are by chance a parent or prospective student stopping ...

"Generous Exit" Tribune Article
WIU continues to be on the receiving end of some pretty scathing criticism around the State, see the latest from the Chicago Tribune:

Re: New Degrees at QC Campus
Fair enough. Look, I've written extensively on this board in the past how I think engineering at WIU is ill-conceived and hurts the more well established engineering technology and physics (pre-engineering) programs. Engineering technology and pre-engineering fit much better with the student profile ...

Re: New Degrees at QC Campus
I have mixed feelings about this. To become a true engineering school, WIU needs to start developing these type of disciplines. At the same time, WIU shouldn't be competing in this space. Engineering technology - yes; Engineering - no.

Re: Updates to faculty layoff plan and other stuff
So once again the question is, where are we going and how are we going to get there? ;) jc
That's the question worth more than $200M right there! I congratulate Dr. Thomas and the staff for securing the capital and operating funds, but WIU needs a new vision for higher education and certainly ...

"In addition... re-appropriates funds for the Center for Performing Arts..."
WHOA! So my scorecard has that as $200M+ in capital improvements alone coming to WIU Macomb in the next 6 or so years. I'd call that a BIG win.
I'm not saying anyone should change their opinion on President Thomas and his ...
