Coach made it very clear to me in our interview that Maguire was ahead. Said Lauletta at Richmond was a bit of an unknown last year too, but the staff just had a hunch about him and it paid off.

But he did say ... Trenton can always take it back in fall drills.

Yeah ... WIU and Northern Iowa have brutal non conference skeds and we already know about the conference sked. If both came out 3-0 they should take a bow.

As a son and grandson of Leathernecks (the USMC types) I wish you all good luck. Love that 3 game stretch to open the year. I asked Coach Fisher about that on the MVFC conf call yesterday and he agreed that it's one of the toughest overall schedules in the FCS. I still think ...

Not surprised in the least. Making the playoffs out of the MVFC is like surviving Parris Island -- which should be especially pertinent with you guys. Coach and I talked about the Leatherneck mascot, just like I talked the 'fear of the spider' with Rocco.

Had a great talk with Coach Fisher yesterday. Incredibly approachable, and everybody knows the resume. His offense at Richmond was incredible and when we talked to Coach Rocco with the Spiders last week, he praised coach Fisher - and of course Rocco's son David is now on staff at WIU.
