Looks like the "other shoe has dropped". Fort Wayne will be joining IUPUI in the Horizon League. It's already been announced that UMKC is coming back to the Summit, but that still puts us down to only 5 teams with baseball. No breathing room on that one. https://twitter.com/espn991sf/stat...

Earliest rumors were that Valpo and Murray State were the choices and that the MVC was going to expand to 11. Some speculation was that 12 was the actual target but that Belmont rebuffed the MVC. Their offense did some pretty great things while he was there. He had some very solid talent, so was it all talent driven or a good mix of talent and coaching? Assuming he had a hand in finding and recruiting the offensive talent as OC, so that bodes well for NIU. Personally think its a good hire. ...

"Word on the street" says that NIU will play WIU in basketball this upcoming season. Nothing official released as of yet, but I'm assuming NIU will host the game but not certain about that. I don't know why they wouldn't try and do a home and home series of games with NIU every year simil...
