WIU has hired a new softball coach, Dwight Sanders, looks like he comes from University of Colorado-Colorado Springs (UCCS).  I believe he will be the first male softball coach that WIU has had.
 

I don't know if he was wanting the job, but I did see Colin Hopkins who was Goler's lead assistant announced he took an assistant job elsewhere, so he won't be the new coach.

WIU will play Iowa with a $105,000 guarantee 

I have no idea if this had anything to do with it, but we did finish last again in the OVC commisioner's cup this year.

Their best player. Peyton Brown is following Goler to Texas St. Not sure if any of the recruits are still coming or not, but it will probably be a long season next year for whoever they hire.

Not sure if this was in the works before Bubb left or if the interim AD did it, but it was announced today that Coach Davis got a contract extension.
