Re: Women's Basketball - 2019

Flanagan adds some height at 6'0"

Dins listed further up should, too. Height isn't listed on the link, but position shows as a Center, something we haven't really had in quite a while. Club team lists her as wing/post at 6'1". https://www.midwestforceselect.com/team ... yer_id=241

Re: vs #16 Missouri

Could the Girls have won? yes, was Mizzou better maybe. Was Mizzou better?...um...yeah. They're the #16 team in the country for a reason. They are, by far, the toughest team we'll play this season at least through the conference tournament. An upset would have been awesome...like on the level of WI...

Re: Provost Position

Monday's news at Western was shocking to say the least. Cathy Early resigning from the BOT and Kathy Neumann no longer being Interim Provost. Not a good day for Western C/Kathy's, but more importantly, not a good day for Western. President Thomas has clearly not liked Neumann or she never would have...

Knox was 7-18 last season.
So it should be no surprise that a D1-team of any calibre would easily defeat a poor D3 team given they offer zero scholarships, travel day of game, etc.

Re: Updates to faculty layoff plan and other stuff

A lot of those on the list aren't actually going to be cut or anything. For example, the Meteorology department added a huge (for them) class of new freshmen this year and is on track to receive a grant that will make WIU the only university in the state of Illinois with its own dual-polarization D...

Re: Rankings

But 5 in the conference sitting ahead of us does not bode well for playoff chances. But wow, my alma mater is 2nd in the standings. When I went there they were D2 because that was the highest they could play without giving athletic scholarships. They tried to argue with the NCAA, but finally gave up...

Re: Relocating Western to Moline

I'd say sell the QC campus to UofI, use that $$ to come down and fix the Macomb campus. All the promise of 3K enrollment has never happened, just 1K, plus wasted money having faculty drive up and back. Oh, and while we're at it, that would cut some administrative bloat.

Re: CPA - Goldfarb Complex

ST pointed me to this pdf. this afternoon. It's an example of WIU getting very very serious about getting the CPA funds released by the state of Illinois. I know that there are petitions floating around all over McDonough county and other areas in support of this new building. I am also sure that n...
