I can't remember - did the university purchase the ground where the theater and Godfather's pizza were? If so, I doubt much in the line of Casey's, etc. would go in there.

I am happy he is gone, I think it is the right move. Every new Coach he hired is presently losing. Hope we get a seasoned AD who has run a successful athletic dept preferably Div 2 or above. Just got email from Pres Mindrup told her of my support for her. Go, Go fight win!

It sounds like he was planning on retiring in the next year or so, but this still seems unexpected. You'd imagine if it was just that, it would have been announced that he was retiring at the end of this ...

I thought he did a good job also, considering what he had to work with and seemed to be content and happy to be at WIU. I did see people on Twitter ripping him over the sanctions that WIU got for ineligible athlete being allowed to play.

I saw on Twitter, 26 D1 schools are now looking for an AD ...

I disagree. I think he did very well given the sinkhole he took over.

Whatever.  I'm old, I miss players playing for the love of the game, and not financial gain. Never was much for semi-pro sports.

Legacy > Money.... you play 1 year at Houston who was awful and what happens after... you're just another name & number in the record book.

I like how he is more vested in building a team than putting one together piecemeal from the portal. Just my thoughts.
