Members of the University Professionals of Illinois (UPI) Local 4100 will hold a strike authorization vote next week on the Macomb and Quad Cities campuses as contract talks with the administration drag on.

VP Matt Bierman is leaving, taking a similar position at a much smaller university, Illinois Wesleyan in Bloomington/Normal.

Most telling will be if we are worse off compared Spring to Spring in relationship to the decline we saw from Fall 2016 to Fall 2017.
Fall 2017 enrollment was down 8.98% from 2016.
Spring 2018 enrollment looks to be 8,599, which would be a decrease of 9.19%.

The spring semester enrollment numbers are in at Eastern Illinois, and their overall student enrollment is up.
