Re: Updates to faculty layoff plan and other stuff

So 89 Million for a Performing Arts Center and nothing for Athletics? Wonderful I love your passion for LN athletics GV and I can't wait for your son to get started and have a great football and educational experience. That said, you're way wrong with the sentiment of this statement. Taxpayers and ...

Re: Division 2

At some point we have got to shake off the fear and negativism and approach the situation at WIU in a positive manner! ;) jc Which would happen much faster if the administration would quit burying its head in the sand and hiding the issues, but rather confronted them head on and told us and showed ...

Re: Danielle Surprenant named Interim AD

Would better concessions help? Yes -- But it isn't the problem. Honestly, I think it's more a symptom than the core 'disease'. Concessions beyond football are sometimes ran by off season coaches! If you're asking your off-season coaches to fill in concession help, you're in a pretty precarious situa...

Re: 3 Months Away

I'll go 4-7. Wins vs. MSU, SIU, ISU(b), and one of the Montanas. O-lined struggled vs. the upper tier teams last year and will have some growing pains this year. The wildcard is McGuire -- he's the real deal. A team with a superior QB always has a shot, and there won't be many match-ups where he won...

Re: Danielle Surprenant named Interim AD

Tanney was after him, but then it was a similar situation...AD at his alma mater. Someone who knows him well said that he could have been AD at Stanford and still would have left for that position. ST - If you believe this, I have a bridge over the IL River at Beardstown to sell you. You didn't kno...

Re: Division 2

I wouldn't attend games anymore. I get that, but the problem is not enough "yous" attend NOW. Even when teams are good here, attendance is at best mediocre, and most of the time it's just flat out abysmal. We hear often from those in the athletics department about "Leatherneck Strong...

Read the TSPR article from above. Throw on top of that he's bailing, it can't be good.

Re: Updates to faculty layoff plan and other stuff

Based on Miner's comments this week, I'm guessing next year's enrollment numbers are going to be real bad. Praying for the administration and faculty leaders to figure out drastic cuts and a bold new vision for Western before it's too late. Also though, Jason Woods and Dr. Polley are good, intellige...

Re: Tanney leaving to become AD at Wabash College

For those keeping score at home, that's an AD leaving a D1 program (FCS in football) for a D3 program. Yikes. There has to be more from that story and I hope it's not just a reflection of how bad of shape the athletics department is in right now.

Re: WHY NOT US?

26 ppg is great from Kendrick Nunn; and if you look at his production at Illinois, it was pretty darn good there too. But there was that whole domestic abuse problem with Nunn at Illinois that sealed his fate in C-U. I know we have different university BOTs, but I'm not sure that would have looked v...
