Re: Governors State University Adds Athletics
The plan is to start Junior Varsity teams in both Women's Volleyball and Men's Basketball this fall (the 2014-2015 season) that will compete against other schools. GSU will be applying to the NAIA with hopes of being accepted to field teams for the 2015-2016 school year. The NCAA DIs could learn a ...

Re: Softball Conference Tournament
The gals go down 10-2 in 5 innings against IUPUI. I only caught the last at bat for Western thinking the game started at 6:30 my time. The people in the stands looked like they were dressed for football weather. I will be back hopefully on time for tomorrow's game against the Jacks - 3PM Central I t...

Re: Softball Conference Tournament
Now, if we were in the OVC, I would be watching this game tomorrow for free. Instead, I have to feed the Bison coffers to the tune of $6.95. I will do it but Tom Douple could do a lot better if he put his mind to it.

Re: New Front Page
Any luck figuring out how to turn top icons yellow or getting a new title made for top? I tried out one idea for the buttons...which didn't work. So I'll probably have to go in and edit the original image that has the pieces of the buttons. The problem with using an image for the title bar is that ...
Re: Bad News
If Nikko was "covering the back" of someone, I could see him keeping his captain position. If not, he should probably give it up voluntarily for now until the case is resolved and then if it comes out favorably for him, the HC can make the final call for the upcoming season.

And ten days later, a similar tragic event that I had completely forgotten about. I was only in 8th grade at the time, so I was not impacted by these events as much as if I had I been in college. http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/news/nation/2010-05-03-jackson-state_N.htm I think the Vietnam War and th...

Re: Next year's roster
The Burlington Hawk-Eye's John Bohnekamp interviewed Coach Wright: http://www3.thehawkeye.com/bohnenkamp_blog/ Good interview by JB. I do not see the advantage of saving a scholarship on the assumption that the NCAA MIGHT change its transfer rules sometime in the future. That change would certainly...
Re: Bad News
This Courier reporter is a true amateur. First, there is no "maybe" about it. The team definitely took a big hit as incidents like this tarnish the reputation of any program, whether on solid ground or not. Second, he provides no mention of reaching out to AD staff or coaches for further c...

Was Rock working with a different breed?
Nice TED talk comparing today's athletes with those of yesteryear.
