HyVee is really improving their store "presentation" throughout central Illinois and Iowa, adding dining and wine bars to the equation. Its no longer not your simple super market!!! jc
Drove past DD/BR this afternoon (had to pick the kids up from school) and as near as I can tell, it's open now. Lights were on, barricades were off the parking area, cars were parked and it looked like there were a couple of people in there.
Also RE: Hy-Vee...yup, they've been doing quite a bit recently. Many of the stores have full sit-down restaurants in them now (like, wait staff, alcoholic drinks, etc.).

Fry up a really big batch for the upcoming study and exam weeks. Use them to start a new campus tradition to gain a little attention? This one works for an Ivy League school but might be a little much for rural western Illinois.
At Brown University, a group of students go through the libraries naked while handing out donuts to those studying, typically on the night before the beginning of exam period, in what is called the Naked Donut Run.
BTW, we need a good samaritan to fix our current Dead Week tradition Wiki entry. Thank God that one is now in moth balls. The challenge is to come up with a new one that puts us right back on the Wiki map.

Was this a stop for visiting teams? From the pictures on their site, it looks like they had banquet area and could do some catering for groups. Bar/louge area you could belly up to. If they have a good steak, even better as my kind of place. So who does have the best steak in town now?wiu712 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 26, 2018 8:51 amLong time Macomb restaurant closing its doors.

Not sure if there's many places in town that even have a steak anymore. Magnolia's does (http://magnoliasmacomb.com/menu/). Looks like Sunrise has one (http://www.sunrisefamilyrestaurantmacomb.com/lunch/)...Max & Molly's Bistro has steak (they don't have their menu online that I can find easily, but I saw this facebook post:sealhall74 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 26, 2018 10:16 amWas this a stop for visiting teams?
