The weather might force two bad run teams, but also poor run defenses into a ground and pound game.

They average 2.1 a carry and 63.3 on 30 carries a game. They give up 6.6 and 288.3 per game. They've faced a little tougher competition that run the shit out of the ball, so against numbers are a bit skewed (NAU is 2-3, but a tough schedule, Tulane is pretty decent so far with 1k yards thru 4, Kennesaw State is ridiculous with 1.8k yards thru 5).

We average 2.9 and 94 on 32 carries a game. We give up 5 and 180.75 per game. Things would look better if Sampson didn't have -73, since we've been sacked 17 times (those count as runs and against rush yardage). On the reverse, they've only been sacked 4 times, so they can't really blame the poor numbers on that. Crazy to say, but we might be the better running team.......I won't hold my breath.

Speaking of sacks, they only have 1, but have faced run heavy teams. Like us, they also haven't had any late game leads to pin their ears back and get after QB's on must pass downs. Again, we reverse it and they have been losing late and forced to pass, but only given up 4 and us in that same boat have given up 17.

This game will be a toss up and wish we knew who was in or out for us this week. I'll take us at home no matter the weather 17-14.

I will be watching the game on the internet while my "estate" sale is going on Saturday here in VA. Trying to dump a lot of furniture so I dont have to move it to Davenport next week. I think the Necks need to get off to a good start and exorcise some demons and play with some confidence during crunch times (3rd downs on both O and D).

One of these teams is likely the MVFC cellar dweller this year. Hope it not us.

Forecast is now calling for a steady rain all day on Saturday. Expected rainfall total has been increased to 0.5 inches.

The best that we can hope for would be to avoid any lightning.

As luck would have it, both Friday and Sunday are predicted to be clear days.

Looking now like it will be dry in the morning for the Parade. Occasional rain showers in the afternoon. So if we can avoid any lightning, we will be doing better than we did two weeks ago for the Tennessee Tech game. High will be 63. Chance of rain = 50%.
