Webster did look nice. I didnt see him miss.. But we cant tell much from this game.. He had lots of room .. They got busy in the second half. Love that its a versitile team now and Gilbeck may be ready to be a real threat.. that changes everything.. we gonna see. Wed

I see ZERO reason to charge a single dime to watch a glorified scrimmage like this. Especially with the recent “success” the program has had.

It makes me a bit nervous to see them give up 40+ points in the first half to a DIII school. They are going to need to figure out some defense real quick or things will get ugly against some of the opponents they have coming up.

So does it make you nervous to hold a D3 school to 25 in the second half while scoring 67 points? I am not going to fault Coach Wright for scheduling this game at the beginning of the season just as much as I am not going to fault JD for scheduling Illinois College which the Necks beat 122 - 40. These are tune-ups period. If Gilbeck had not scored 31 we would have been asking why he was not the dominant player on the floor, which he was on Saturday night. Glad both teams are getting a bit of the rust off playing games like this as the real schedule approaches! ;) jc

I don't have a problem with them scheduling lower division teams as a "tune-up" and to get some experience for the young guys.

That being said, I also see an argument for having those games be free to attend or something. Just to kinda get people in the door and stuff. I know that it does actually count for our W/L record, but it's practically an exhibition.

Biggest question in my mind is where were our power guys (Snyder, Gavin, Hughes, etc). Were we playing gentle on purpose or something?
