Agreed, we don't know anything for sure yet. I was just tossing out a couple of the names near the top of the "heap" of our current coaching staff...Elliott could be good to (I can assure you that you have likely had more personal contact with them than I have).GV Dad wrote: Thu Dec 21, 2017 8:18 pm Cart before the horse, but Coach Elliott is the most impressive among the Assistants. Already Asst HC, why wouldn't it be him? Hopefully it's not true though.

I agree i think Malone is closer to retiring than becoming a head coach Jared has been at WIU twice so he obviously doesn't hate macomb lack of experience is his biggest question.GV Dad wrote: Thu Dec 21, 2017 8:18 pm Cart before the horse, but Coach Elliott is the most impressive among the Assistants. True...no HC experience yet...but someone has to give you your first HC job...if he's good, then it might as well be us.leatherneckcountry wrote: Thu Dec 21, 2017 8:24 pmI agree i think Malone is closer to retiring than becoming a head coach Jared has been at WIU twice so he obviously doesn't hate macomb lack of experience is his biggest question.GV Dad wrote: Thu Dec 21, 2017 8:18 pm Cart before the horse, but Coach Elliott is the most impressive among the Assistants. That was my thought if you look in-house would be naming Elliott head coach. Might satisfy some recruits and be able to keep assistant coaches, because i think Fisher did put together a good coaching staff.GV Dad wrote: Thu Dec 21, 2017 8:18 pm Cart before the horse, but Coach Elliott is the most impressive among the Assistants. It was good and bad that Charlie had so many coaching connections.
I think Grantham is a candidate to go back up to FBS level, but if he has connections in Macomb maybe he would want to stick aroundMCGrown wrote: Thu Dec 21, 2017 10:14 pm If Fisher leaves then promote from within would seem logical. Grantham would be the top choice if you look at the defensive improvement from this year, also his experience at other schools and he has family connections to Macomb.
The story was similar to what has been voiced here. The story did say that Charlie Fisher had not accepted the job at Arizona State at this time.
This is the story from WGEM Sports:
WIUs Fisher offered Arizona State assistant job.
