Well, I was hoping they’d have the roster updated by now, but apparently ‘twas not to be. So, I’ll do my best to get accurate info, but I apologize if there’s a few errors here and there.
Starting off this summer with the QBs
Seniors
#18 Sean McGuire
Sophomores
#8 Connor Sampson
Trey McJunkin
Redshirt Freshmen
#11 Adam Mullett
#12 Tyler Ward
Last Season
Starting QB Sean McGuire in his Junior season played in all 12 games, throwing for 219 completions on 342 attempts for 2852 yards. He threw 25 TDs and 7 interceptions for a QB rating of 154.11 and an average of 237.67 yards per game.
Freshman QB Connor Sampson also stepped in at times, playing in 4 games, completing 5 out of 8 passes for 35 yards and 1 TD, with a QB rating of 140.5.
This Season
2018 should see Sean McGuire again getting the majority of playing time in his final season at the helm of the Leatherneck offense.
The question now is who the #2 QB will likely be. Last season’s backup QB, Sophomore Connor Sampson has a bit of experience, having played a little last season and in this year’s Spring Game, threw for 124 yards on 14 completions.
The coaching staff has also brought in a transfer who could compete with that spot as well, with (I believe classified as a Sophomore) Trey McJunkin. McJunkin spent the last two seasons at Fresno City Junior College (in the California Community College Athletic Association) where he redshirted in 2016 before appearing in 11 games in 2017, throwing for 2,472 yards with 29 TDs and 15 INTs, averaging 224.7 ypg and a QB pass efficiency rating of 153.5.
As redshirt freshmen, both Adam Mullett and Tyler Ward should also be available for playing time if the situation warrants it.

Tyler Ward and Adam Mullett are no longer listed.
They were both redshirt freshmen. I wonder if having Sean this year then either Sampson or McJunkin (both sophomores this year) take over for the next two years kinda made it evident that likely neither of them would be starting until they were seniors. We'll want to make sure to recruit a solid QB who we can redshirt in 2019 and take over when either of those guys is gone after 2020.leatherneckcountry wrote: ↑Tue Aug 28, 2018 5:37 pm Tyler Ward and Adam Mullett are no longer listed.

It's also possible they still like Western as a school, but just decided that football wasn't for them anymore.wiu712 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 28, 2018 8:42 pmBoth names are listed in the Student Directory.leatherneckcountry wrote: ↑Tue Aug 28, 2018 5:37 pmTyler Ward and Adam Mullett are no longer listed.
