Predictions/Odds
Most games this week should be fairly lopsided. Only 3 matchups are between teams in the same division. The ones that have the potential to be the closest include our own game at Illinois (only one where the predictions are within single digits), Montana State at South Dakota State, Northern Colorado at South Dakota, and Eastern Illinois at Illinois State (predictions are higher on that, but that rivalry seems to quite often turn into a close "dogfight").
Non-MVFC Games of Interest

4:00 PM - Iowa State (0-0, Big 12) at Iowa (1-0, Big 10), FOX
6:30 PM - Utah (1-0, Pac 12) at Northern Illinois (0-1, MAC), ESPNN

we are getting absolutely zero love this week in the Coaches Poll. The game this week is even more important now IMHO.

Embrace the pace of the race.
Coaches Poll means less than nothing. In many cases it's filled out by grad students that are working for the coaches, and even if it is filled out by the coaches...they're not going to be focused on anyone except who they play that season, and specifically who they play the next weekend. I would hope that Coach Elliott wouldn't be paying any attention to the outcome of New Hampshire and Maine, for example, since we don't play either in the regular season and neither are in our conference. The first comment on AGS following this week's coaches poll thread pretty tells it as it is:sealhall74 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 04, 2018 12:03 pm we are getting absolutely zero love this week in the Coaches Poll. New Hampshire is 0-1 with a 7-35 loss to Maine, and they've lost their star QB to injury.
Maine is 1-0 with a 35-7 win over New Hampshire.
In both the Coaches and STATS poll, New Hampshire is both still ranked, and ranked higher than Maine. This is a perfect example of why these polls are trash.

That's probably a high estimate.
Maybe there were more people on the other side, but pause this and count the people you can see:

SDSU went against a different QB than we did - was the guy injured last week in the game? His hand was bandaged up to where it almost looked like a club.
