The Missouri State campus was buzzing Wednesday with the school’s announcement that Bobby Petrino has been hired to coach the Bears’ football team. Petrino, who compiled a 119-56 record in head coaching stints at Arkansas, Western Kentucky, and Louisville, will be formally introduced at a Thursday morning press conference.
Petrino signed a five-year contract at $250,000 per year. The Bears were 1-10 last year and haven’t earned a spot in the FCS playoffs in 30 years.
