Since TV's time they have always been looking for some one with a master's degree. This time they are not worried about a teaching assignment as much as someone to build our program.

There’s no way the Interim President stays out of this. He micromanages hires at the lowest levels of the University. No way he lets this hire happen without imparting his infinite wisdom.

No AD would do it all own their own. That statement is just trying to bolster her ego or she doesn't want people to dissect who actually is involved in the process.
Kinda polite way to say F*** off, of course everyone knows the magnitude of this she's not stupid.

You either go national search or you rely on the AD's short list which any responsible AD always has in their file cabinet.
Of course, the Pres will weigh in on whoever emerges from the process.

Embrace the pace of the race.
Another name I've seen tossed around a bit today is Steve Hawkins. He was just (today) let go as the HC at Western Michigan after being there for 17 years. Before that he was their top assistant for 3 years, but before that, he had been the HC at Quincy University for 9 seasons, so he's familiar with the area.
His teams have struggled the last few years, but he has a 291-262 (.526) record at WMU with 7 regular season MAC championship titles, 2 conference tournament titles, and 2 NCAA appearances. His teams also appeared in 1 NIT, 2 CITs, and 1 CBI.

Shit, his 13 wins would get him a street named after him in Macomb. Would be the most in a season since 2012-13 with CC3 and TP.ST_Lawson wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2020 4:10 pm Another name I've seen tossed around a bit today is Steve Hawkins. Well Rick Pitino is off the market.
Iona College hires Rick Pitino as head basketball coach in a stunning move.
Pitino, who grew up on Long Island, has close ties to multiple influential voices at Iona, including top booster Robert LaPenta, who formerly partnered with Pitino in ownership of racehorses.
New Iona president Seamus Carey used to work at Transylvania University in Lexington, Ky., and is close with Rick Avare, Pitino’s agent and business manager.
The NCAA still hasn’t ruled on Pitino and the latest Louisville scandal that led to his dismissal, so it’s uncertain if he would face any discipline upon returning to the sport.
