concerned about bringing in an offensive coach from a team that has struggled to score.
Looks like a pretty young team. There are some graduate students listed, but then it seems like they go to mostly freshmen or sophomores.leatherneckcountry wrote: Thu Nov 11, 2021 3:35 pm concerned about bringing in an offensive coach from a team that has struggled to score.

So your source wants the job bad?Leatherneck57 wrote: Thu Nov 11, 2021 3:14 pm My source who is a former player and coach at WIU says he wants the job bad.
Does Harvie have experience coaching football at the college level? I know he has done personal training stuff, and obviously played football, but I don’t remember if he actually coached anywhere.vatusay wrote:I’ll throw a name out there from the “leader of men” list.
Harvie Herrington.
very very very familiar with Macomb.
not saying my first choice. Just would be interesting.

Not at college level. He was an assistant for Macomb. Just a name I was throwing out there in regards to the earlier post about maybe even hiring someone that has no coaching experience.ST_Lawson wrote: Thu Nov 11, 2021 5:53 pmDoes Harvie have experience coaching football at the college level? We need to go down 1 of 2 paths in the search...
1) Look for an ambitious up and coming Coach that wants to use us as a stepping stone. Has some experience as at least a Coordinator at a successful program; Upper level D2 or higher. If a Coach comes in and gets us back to playoff caliber and hands the keys to someone else as he moves up I think we will all be ok with that.
2) Look for a OC or DC from a successful FCS or FBS program that has prior HC experience that is looking to get back to a HC job.
Coach Shields is my favorite from the 3 initial candidates that 57 shared. And also, thank you to 57 for sharing some info with us! I know all the fans on this board appreciate any info we can get!
