Freshman Volleyball player Helaina Hillyard is transferring to Nova Southeastern to play basketball for them. She will end up being teammates with former Leatherneck basketball player Grace Gilmore.

Not a good start for the Volleyball team as they lost 2 matches today. Probably going to be another long season for them.

The question becomes, how much did they play this year and how much do you think they will play next year?  Maybe they can find a better fit.  This "portal" thing is just going to be the way it is from here on out and may or may not help players or program. ;)

Although they haven't really done much under Ben, I'm still surprised to see they let him go. I thought they would give him another year. I think just Saturday he tweeted something praising the women's basketball team after their win. Will they find a coach that can finally turn the program around. How many coaches have they gone thru recently?

When a volleyball alumni who played for him responds with “lol”, you gotta wonder if there was more going on than just not winning. Could be that he just wasn’t ready to be a D1 coach?

Also, he had essentially the same timeframe as Coach Elliott did. Coached ‘18, ‘19, ‘20 which was pushed back to winter/spring ‘21, fall ‘21. In that time his squads were 16-88, a .154 record.
