In the men's NCAA Tournament, #13 South Dakota State takes on #4 Providence at 11:40 AM on Thursday 3/17. Other "adjacent" teams include future MVC member #7 Murray State against #10 San Francisco, and current MVC member #10 Loyola Chicago taking on #7 Ohio State.
No Summit League teams in the NIT this year, although our fellow MVFC-mates Missouri State and UNI are in it taking on #1 Oklahoma and #3 Saint Louis respectively
Other than WIU, there's no other Summit League teams in The Basketball Classic, but the MVFC's Youngstown State is there representing the Horizon League...they play Morgan State.
No Summit League teams in the CBI either, although the MVC's Drake plays former Summit League team Purdue-Fort Wayne.
On the women's side of things, #10 South Dakota plays #7 Ole Miss on 3/18 at 12:30 PM in the NCAA Tournament. Other teams we're familiar with include #15 Illinois State playing #2 Iowa, and #13 IUPUI playing #4 Oklahoma.
The women's NIT includes two Summit League teams, with Kansas City taking on Northern Iowa and South Dakota State hosting Ohio, both on 3/17. Also, SIU takes on Purdue, Youngstown State against nearby Kent State (~38 miles apart).

USD women get a win over Baylor to advance to the sweet 16 in what might be the biggest victory of all time on the women's side.
And it wasn't even that close. USD put up the first 11 points of the game and never looked back. They held a 12 point lead after 1 quarter, 11 point lead at the half, were 13 points up after 3, then finished with a 14-point win over a #2 seed that previously had 12 straight "Sweet Sixteen" appearances.leatherneckcountry wrote: Sun Mar 20, 2022 7:05 pm USD women get a win over Baylor to advance to the sweet 16 in what might be the biggest victory of all time on the women's side.
They'll play the winner of #3 Michigan and #11 Villanova (game is this evening at 5 PM) next Saturday, 3/26.
In the women's NIT, SDSU took down Minnesota, 78-57 in Brookings.

South Dakota State beat Drake this evening in the Women's NIT, 84-66. That puts them into the tournament's "elite 8". Haven't seen who they're playing yet, but I think they figure out the matchups after they know who's in each round. Teams that have already won their games at this level of the bracket include: Columbia, Seton Hall (those two are already paired up in the next round), Alabama, MTSU, and Toledo. Remaining games are between UCLA and Wyoming, and New Mexico and Oregon State. At this point, I think the closest remaining teams would likely be Toledo or Wyoming (if they win their game).
