Terry Davis was the Director of Player Personnel/Recruiting Specialist for the Portland State Football program for the 2022 season.

Seems like a good hire I guess, but a little concerning in my opinion that he comes from the West Coast, so his assistant coaching hires will be important or interesting because I think they will need some Midwest roots for recruiting.

this is weird and do we have any idea why he left WSU, was the coach fired so the coaching staff was let go.

I got thinking and with Sheriff tweeting what he did the day before the announcement, makes me think him and Davis were the finalists for the job. Also and this is something we will never know, but I wonder how applicants they got or actual legitimate applicants they had

No the coach wasn’t let go but I’m not sure how much assistants make even in the upper level of D1

Terrible hire in my opinion, especially with the other finalist that was available. This guy was coaching football for three years and we hire him to coach baseball halfway across the country in a place where he has no connections for recruiting. The most Western thing that Western could do.
