Matthew Henry has entered the transfer portal, actually I think both Henrys on the team are in the portal.

You mentioned earlier that Tre Henry was going to try for the NFL draft, so does that mean all three of the Henrys are gone?
There's Matthew and also Tyler (as far as I know, none are related, they're from CA, FL, and LA).

WR Matthew averaged 100.9 yards per game and had 6 receiving TDs, so I'd imagine he's looking at transferring to top FCS or G-level FBS team.
DL Tre had 32 tackles (3 for loss) with 1.5 sacks this season, but I guess is trying for the NFL?
DB Tyler had 42 tackles and 9 pass breakups. Idk if that's enough to get him interest from a higher level or not. I would guess no, but it's hard to say at this point.

I'm sorry i need to do a better job of getting all the info, I'm not sure now honestly, Somebody retweeted it and now I'm not sure if it was the Tre tweet about trying for the pros or Tyler leaving. Once again I apologize for posting something and not having all the info.

No problem, I'll try to do some digging tomorrow to see if I can find out more info.

Here's is everyone that has entered the portal that has at least posted.

Ryan Crandall - LB
Ryan Merklinger - OL
Tyler Henry - CB
Matthew Henry - WR
Jordan Anderson - DB
Braylen Brooks - CB
Jeremiah Piper - CB
Kamal Mukarram - DB
Matthew Nies - TE
Jacques Brooks - WR
Dallas Parker - WR
Kendall Huston - LB
Dawson Chapman - LB
Kyle Kopczynski - LS

My hope is that Crandall and Merklinger are only going to leave if they get an FBS offer for better exposure.  Something similar as De La Cruz 2 years ago and only getting a walk on opportunity with Washington State.  Right now both only have FCS offers, so maybe we see them back.  Crandall was one of our very few efficient players on D, so will be tough to lose.  Merklinger will hurt, but maybe Banks-Wall will be back and we have some young pups who got some reps and could be legit.  My hope for Merklinger is he gets an offer from Tennessee and his bro wins the QB job next year and they get to play together.

Matt Henry will get plenty of FBS love and it hurts, but probably our best and deepest position, assuming the other top 4 stay.

Never good to lose your top 3 corners, but when your D is that bad, does it really hurt.  On D Riven was good and glad he's back, excited about LB Williams and nothing yet on him, but was worried about both he and Jordan Anderson entering.  Anytime you get those 2 stars who are passed over for being 2 stars and then they play significantly as true freshman, they'll be getting looks.

Waiting to see what happens with a few guys, not currently on the updated 2025 roster who should have a year left.

First and foremost Cam Smith, who we need back for next year.  Not sure if he's trying to grad transfer or looking at the next level, but haven't heard or seen anything.  Maybe he's waiting to see what comes of the injury he sustained against SEMO.

Again, Banks-Wall should have a year left and he recently updated his photo to his WIU pic and then said, "Watch this come back (league year)".  Seems like he should be back after playing 1 or 2 snaps at NIU and hobbling off.

Safety Christian Pierce played decent this year and should have a year (covid year) after grad transferring in for this season.

Played in all 12 games this year, 91 total tackles, 53 solo, 11.5 for loss, 1 forced fumble. Led the team in tackles and tackles for loss.
I guess it's probably to be expected that we'll lose guys on the defensive side if the DC was let go (and possibly other defensive coaches).

Crandall posted he was offered by Southern Illinois

Crandall has also been offered by UNI

thanks for posting this, so looks like possible all 3 of Henrys could be gone. Tyler entered the portal and Tre is going to try his luck in the pros.

I've seen the coaches are tweeting and sounds like they are getting some commitments from guys in the portal but I haven't seen any names.

Looking at when they committed, I'd say 5-6 of the guys on that list were walk-ons.  M. Henry and Merklinger are the guys we really hate to lose.  It seems as if Davis and staff worked the portal favorably this time last year upon his hiring i.e. Henry, Cam Smith, Isaiah Foote, Chris Irvin (TBD on him), Alex Williams, Tristan Duncan, Christian Pierce, Damari Davis were all guys that were starters and/or All Conference players this fall.

Defense has to be the focus now.

I say it every year, the portal is the worst thing to happen in college sports.
