Campus recreation

Miscellaneous discussions. Things that don't have anything to do with Western, Leatherneck Athletics, college sports in general, etc.

Question.  We know the billiards room and bowling alley on campus are no longer with us.  But does anyone know if there ANY pool tables anywhere on campus?  Rec Center, residence hall lounge, ...

Just wondering if I make a monetary donation, could it go for such a thing?

I love the game of pool, in fact I represented WIU in the ACUI tournament held at ISU one year circa 1980.  Got my butt kicked but still a fun time.
National interest in the game seems to be on the uptick lately, especially with all the tournament streaming going on.  Will it get to ESPN level again, who knows.
No pool table in my house yet but I am working on making that happen even if I have to move to a bigger house.

There is a pool table in "The Neck" -- basement level of the University Union.

Older alumni will remember this room being the Pool & Billiard area.

Great they got a pool table in the union.  Next question.  Is it a slate table?  If not playing on true slate table, you will lose interest in the game real quick as balls dont roll smoothly and straight.

Idk if it's slate, but it's smaller than the ones that used to be in that room, which is disappointing.
