RB Torrance Farmer tweeted that he has entered the portal. Must not have thought he was going to get many carries this upcoming season.
If you get your bachelor degree in hand and have some playing time left, you should absolutely take a good hard look at the best place to pursue your masters.
Looks like he had 72.5 yards per game and 7 TDs last season receiving for us. My hope is that we got even better receivers on the roster and it looked like he wasn't going to be getting much playing time. With the portal and NLI situation though, you never can tell. Unlikely to go to the FBS, but maybe he thinks he can get a bit of money from a higher-level FCS team.

Seems all the more odd since he was one of the players highlighted on the "How Is Spring Ball Going?" snippets. Hopefully we have up and comers to replace him - maybe he didn't have the same "mojo" with the new QB that he had with Lamb, who knows? Would still like to know the reasoning behind it for curiosities sake.

This sucks and hate the portal as an FCS team. You have anyone that actually plays well, you might as well say goodbye. Probably held on to Cam Smith because he was coming off an injury.
As far as QB goes, maybe Molk is winning the job. Assumed it would be Irvin and he has plenty of mojo with him. Played juco together and had 2 TD connection last year. One on an almost blind throw where they needed to be on the exact same page in the endzone. Was hoping for lots of that this year.
Molk does have one of his top receivers with him in AJ Harris. Maybe he stays, maybe the new adds and returns will excel without him, but was a big fan and excited for him this year.

Oh, no doubt. I agree - the transfer portal and NIL have ruined college football. It's more (to me, anyway) like semi-pro teams. Those that are blessed with gobs of $$$$$ get the best, those lacking $$$$ get what's left. Gosh, I miss the days when you could follow someone all the way from an incoming freshman to a graduating senior - sure seemed like most people were a lot more invested when they were able to get to know and grow with players.
probably what's happening to every college team in the country right now. Especially FCS. Look at how many players off the 2024 OVC/BS All Conference teams went in the portal. The majority! Sign of the times. Frustrating.
