Yes, it looks like the setting for a horror film. Just found a recent article with an update. The city is in court with the owner to get them to bring the site up to code - it’s been abandoned for so long I’m surprised the owner was found.

Anyone know the year the Sports Corner opened? I remember first going there about 10 years ago.
Work is being done on the building. They just had a mural painted on the east side of it with images from around Macomb plus their (I assume) mascot.

Also, the family that owned Los Tapatios (in the old east Hardees building, where Los Charros East is currently located) is going to be opening a new restaurant. For those that aren't aware, the father of the family owned and ran Los Tapatios, but he passed away a few years ago and Los Charros took over the building (idk if the family sold it to Los Charros or what). The family had to take some time to figure out how best to proceed, but have announced they are opening a new restaurant in the little strip mall area just west of Walmart next to where Maurices and Hibbett Sports are currently. This is what that area looked like in 2018, for reference:

Great Clips, Arbys, and US Cellular all moved to larger locations that are closer to Jackson Street, while Sally closed that location (it's a chain). The new Los Tapatios (or whatever the new name will be) is going into two of the spots that were vacated.
