Western wins 86-75
Mia Nicastro was Western's lead scorer with 31 points.
Attendance at Western Hall = 300
Next game will be at Western Hall on Thursday (Nov 20) vs Bradley. Game time is 7:00 PM.
vs Chicago State
Man the attendance for both games wasn't good. Was it the time, the day, the opponents or just no buzz or excitement for the basketball programs this year. Chicago St apparently is improved from previous seasons.wiu712 wrote: Mon Nov 17, 2025 10:13 pm Western wins 86-75

The crowd may have been a bit larger than the posted 300 for the Women and 250 for the Men.
The East Arena door is usually locked which makes everyone enter through the north entrance. But last night, that East Arena door was unlocked, and people were entering through it -- bypassing the ticket takers. Those people were not counted.
There was a large group of people who left after the Women's game. But those who stayed for the Men's game were not counted in the Men's attendance.
The Women did have a larger attendance than the Men.

Someone is going to need to step up and be that 3rd scorer if we’re going to be a threat in league play haven’t played well against bad teams yet

My bet would be Shetley. No starts under her belt yet but probably only a matter of time. Her points per minutes played is pretty good (2nd only to Nicastro) while shooting an incredible 78% from the field. That would make us a pretty solid front court IMO. At this early juncture, my only real concern is the 3 point shots not going in as frequently as they usually do but that might be a side effect of our dominance in the paint.leatherneckcountry wrote: Tue Nov 18, 2025 1:23 pm Someone is going to need to step up and be that 3rd scorer if we’re going to be a threat in league play haven’t played well against bad teams yet
Embrace the pace of the race.
I know its early but Allie and Shetley are both averaging over 10pts a game currently, so that seems like a decent 3rd and 4th option.leatherneckcountry wrote: Tue Nov 18, 2025 1:23 pm Someone is going to need to step up and be that 3rd scorer if we’re going to be a threat in league play haven’t played well against bad teams yet

With Kaylen running point, Allie will score more. This could be our best season since 2017!

Shelley looks impressive so far and was a great addition.
